And The Beat Goes On

Rushing, fussing, gotta go right now

Must do, before it is too late
the threat, will fatality occur
grab it when you can
soon to be gone, not too late

Should do, it’s the right thing
the eyes are watching
say no to the criticism

Could do, if there is time
make the commitment,
what about the risk
without an end in sight
will the energy be restored

Would have, but what would we have
if there is doubt, if there is a blink
regardless of it all
the pulse continues to throb
the world turns day into night

No one is ageless
the clock continues to tick
and the beat goes on
