Alone

The days are long
Never seeming to peak or to ebb
Of sorrow and sadness is the song
Days pass by, shrouded in a web

The energy is limp with no focus
Through the day movement is mindless
The numbness leaves nothing to discuss
In retrospect it is life that is a mess

No light is there to penetrate
The soul is lost in the mire
This loneliness seems to be the fate
The heart, once bright, has lost its fire

The dreams that were once are now gone
The dreams for the future are buried
In life it appears I have become the pawn
The weight of the truth can not be carried

To have hoped is now a disappointment
And now alone I must be
Not able to embrace this life that was meant
Alone for now I will be until I am free
