Missing You

Today I truly feel an emptiness
You have been away far too long
My heart aches to have you near
But still, I pray for you to come home

The house is quiet without life
I feel the loneliness all around
The silence reminds me that you are not here
Today I truly feel an emptiness

No tenderness do I feel
No partner here for support
No conversation to be exchanged
You have been away far too long

I realize together we are one
Without you I do not have a me
Without you I do not want to be
My heart aches to have you near

I wait for you patiently, boldly facing the sacrifice
I do realize the importance of what you seek
The intention is for our life to be less of a burden
But still, I pray for you to come home

This is once again an attempt to try a different poetry style.  The cascade poem was a form invented by Udit Bhatia.  Each line from the first stanza of a poem is copied to become the  final lines of each stanza afterward.  The following is a guide for this type of poem in the form of a quatrain cascade:
ABCD   abcA   defB   ghiC   jklD
